The FISHERS Magazine
True Stories

These testimonies are of how ordinary people have encountered the mercy and grace of God. Many have received Him as their Lord and Saviour only after a conflict within themselves of doubt and apprehension. Others have found that walking with God often involves a season of pruning. In all cases they have found Him faithful in various trials and temptations. These pathways of faith touch both the heart and the mind. We pray you will find them as encoraging as they have been to us.
Readers, do contribute your stories to the Editors of FISHERS for publication. If you have a phobia for writing, or think you can't write well enough, well, we felt the same way too, until the Lord compelled us....and then the words just flowed. So if you feel led to write, please feel free to contribute to this ministry. You can email to us from this site, or send your article by regular mail. Singapore residents, please enclose a self-addressed envelope, if you wish to have your article returned to you should it be found unsuitable by us.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. (Phil 4.23).

Youth Strikes it Rich by Peter Ramsay
A youth muses, "This favoured Christian's child deserved nothing from God but hell because of my sins." How will he know God's mercy?
In referring to believing in Christ by faith, the most common form is to say "I accept(ed) Christ as my Saviour". Strictly speaking, this is unBiblical. The online versions of these testimonies have thus been edited to the form "I receive(d) Christ as my Saviour" in keeping with Scripture (see for example John 1:11-13 and Col 2:6). In fact our Lord and the Apostle Paul far more often used the phrase "believe in (Me) the Lord" (see for example John 6:29 and Acts 16:31), meaning to believe that Christ is Lord and that His salvation is the free gift of God. We contribute nothing to our salvation.
